Much of GS3’s growth over the past few years has been in great leaps forward, in rapid, anticipatory transitions from one level of capability to another.

Though founded during a recession, GS3 grew smartly from the start, finding success in supply chain management and project-based manufacturing. Among our supply chain services, we were able to offer our clients extensive transportation and logistics services. One of these clients was an Automotive OEM who desperately needed a dependable partner to handle logistics for an urgent international project.

This was an instance of skill and opportunity combined with a little bit of moxie. When you’ve already proven yourself in one area, it’s easier to make the case for your ability in another. Moreover, we’d been building our own team internally all along, adding skills and experience to prepare for our anticipated growth and evolution. One afternoon, since we were already at our partner’s building to discuss logistics and distribution, we took the opportunity to throw our hat in the ring for an assembly project.

Though founded during a recession, GS3 grew smartly from the start, finding success in supply chain management and project-based manufacturing. Among our supply chain services, we were able to offer our clients extensive transportation and logistics services.

One of these clients was a Tier One automaker who desperately needed a dependable partner to handle logistics for an urgent international project.

Our client had a baseline design and the emissions control functionality was already established. Yet, as we know well, the main thing is always manufacturability. What does this mean? For starters, just because an item is assembled via automation, doesn’t mean it should be. Just because it is designed and works in a computer simulation, doesn’t mean it will translate into actual functionality.

We’re a parts manufacturer with an emphasis on realistic approaches that result in functional, economical, cost-effective products. This is an approach we incorporate into all of our concepts. At the same time, we develop strong working relationships with our clients’ engineering staff. The resulting design partnerships allow us to provide the integrated, complex assemblies our clients want.

Today, we’re a preferred supplier for this client, and we currently produce 15 part numbers for five separate vehicle lines. We’re proud to be among their top three assemblers.  Our relationship is strong, continues to grow and offers consistent product quality. We’re known as the parts supplier for this type of assembly, both with our customer and in the industry.

In fact, as we’ve further developed our assembly process for this client, we’ve continuously added to our ability to generate functional and cost-effective design for our clients. This experience has contributed directly to our development of our advanced manufacturing services and the prototyping lab process we now offer our clients.
