In early 2017, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce traveled around the U.S. to learn from “America’s job creators” like GS3 Global CEO Lisa Lunsford.
Jobs in skilled trades are plentiful and often lucrative, but preparing our youth for these positions is its own challenge. During the Chamber’s roundtable discussion, facilitated via Crain’s Detroit Business, Lisa remarked that “It is critical for our leaders to pound the drum about the importance of education, whether it is a two-year degree, four-year degree, or a vocational certification. Our leaders need to understand what education means for the country to grow, and for me to grow my business.”
The Chamber’s “Let’s Grow” initiative aims to promote increased economic growth, in part by learning successful strategies from pioneering small business founders like Lisa.
